Temporary Solutions, Inc. is currently working with a client that supplies funds for services and programs in our local area. This is a part-time contract position with the Permanent Supportive Housing program (PSH), which is within the Housing Assistance Bureau of the Department of Human Services (DHS). The Residential Monitor will be responsible for maintaining a safe, healthy and welcoming living environment for tenants.

Residential Monitor Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a safe environment for PSH tenants
  • Providing tenants with on-site life skills training (e.g., laundry, cooking, housekeeping) to aid in the transition from homelessness to housing
  • Regularly inspecting units and common areas, alerting property management of any maintenance issues as necessary.
  • Monitoring tenant’s guests
  • Resolving disputes as necessary
  • Responding to after-hours crises

Residential Monitor Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of the complexity of the supportive housing needs for a low-income population with cognitive, mental and developmental disabilities
  • Thorough knowledge of complexity of the supportive housing needs for population with substance use disorders
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to resolve complaints, persuade others and develop positive, trusting relationships with tenants, landlords and service providers.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and handle crisis
  • Ability to work independently
  • Basic Computer skills
  • High School diploma; some college preferred
  • Experience working with persons with disabilities, in particular, persons diagnosed with serious mental illness and or substance use disorders
