Temporary Solutions, Inc. is currently working with an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We are searching for a Compensation Analyst. The Compensation Analyst is a member of the City's Department of Human Resources (DHR) Compensation & HRIS team, supporting assigned departments with their compensation needs. The Compensation Analyst is responsible for managing the relationships of an assigned portfolio of City departments, consulting with them regarding their needs, providing guidance in identifying best courses of action and contributes to compensation planning within DHR and across the city.

Compensation Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Partners with assigned departments and their HR related staff for Compensation related requests, including but not limited to reclassifications, pay adjustments, equity reviews, identifying hiring salaries, and issuing discretionary rewards
  • Conducts analysis of requests, gathers data, interviews stakeholders and employees, and provides recommendations to departments that align with the City's compensation philosophy and the business objectives of the departments
  • Develops and presents HR recommendations and results directly to departments
  • Participates in and supports projects and initiatives in compensation
  • Assists in the maintenance of the City's classifications and pay programs
  • Monitors and maintains the Compensation Division's intake and distribution of department requests
  • Participates in surveys and responds to requests for information from other jurisdictions
  • Maintains professional relationships with colleagues in the Classification and Compensation public sector arena, including those in the City's approved comparator jurisdictions
  • Provides back-up support to fellow Compensation Analysts
  • Performs related work as required

Compensation Analyst Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three years professional experience in a human resources management field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • At least three years of experience in compensation
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience writing and presenting reports
  • HR certification
