Employment Enterprises, Inc is supporting a government entity that supplies a variety of funds for services and programs in our local area. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician onsite in Arlington, VA. The position requires relevant experience in facility maintenance and offers an hourly pay rate of $22.00. This full-time role supports operation of a state-of-the-art aquatics and fitness center, serving as a regional destination for recreational and competitive swimming activities.
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities
Act as a liaison with maintenance contractors performing preventative or corrective work on pool systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems.
Manage facility access, including coordination with contracted security services.
Perform maintenance on pool systems, including filters, UV bulbs, and chemical feeding equipment.
Oversee the Building Automation System (BAS), ensuring preventative maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctioning systems.
Diagnose, test, and repair plumbing issues, including clearing drain traps, snaking lines, and fixing pipes and fixtures.
Conduct seasonal inspections and coordinate maintenance schedules.
Manage inventory and work orders using Cartegraph or similar systems.
Perform weekly whirlpool draining and cleaning.
Order necessary supplies such as pool chemicals and equipment.
Maintenance Technician Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Some experience in commercial or industrial facilities maintenance, particularly in aquatics, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or general mechanical repairs.
Preference for candidates with (but not required):
Experience in aquatic facility maintenance.
Experience with Building Automation Systems.
Experience in a commercial environment.
Knowledge of work order and inventory management systems like Cartegraph.
Licenses/certifications preferred (not required):
Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator (CPO).
Local Journeyman or Master Electrician License (VA or MD).
HVAC-R certification (VA Licensure).
Must be able to obtain, within 90 days of hire:
Aquatic Facility Operator, CPO, or similar credential.
CFC Refrigeration Certification.
