Employment Enterprises, Inc is supporting a locally owned and operated business specializing in glass manufacturing and distribution. With a team of approximately 20 employees working across office and warehouse functions, the company is committed to maintaining a safe, compliant, and employee-focused workplace. We are seeking an HR Consultant to conduct a comprehensive HR audit as well as ongoing HR support. This position is onsite in Manassas, VA and pays $40-$65 per hour/per year.
HR Consultant Responsibilities
Conduct a thorough HR audit covering:
Personnel files and recordkeeping practices
Hiring, onboarding, and orientation processes
Wage and hour compliance, including timekeeping and overtime
Employee relations, grievance handling, and disciplinary procedures
Performance management and feedback systems
Termination, exit interviews, and offboarding procedures
Review and assess compliance with:
Federal and Virginia state labor laws
EEOC, FMLA, ADA, and other applicable regulations
Evaluate HR systems and recommend improvements or digital solutions
Identify gaps, risks, and areas for operational efficiency
Provide a detailed audit report with findings, compliance risks, and prioritized recommendations
Present findings to company leadership and offer strategic guidance for implementation
HR Consultant Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of HR experience, including HR audits or consulting.
Deep knowledge of federal and Virginia employment laws.
Experience working with small businesses and mixed-use environments (office and warehouse).
Preferred certifications include SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
