Our client is a leader in managing commercial and residential properties throughout the Northern Virginia region. The Business Manager (BM) is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service by managing resident accounting, communication, and support functions across multiple communities, ensuring operational excellence and compliance. This is a Full-time, Direct Hire position based in Herndon, Virginia, paying a competitive salary of $65,000-$75,000 per year.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all rent collections and related payments/deposits in compliance with company procedures.
  • Ensure rent and fee collections adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Review Accounts Receivable reporting for current, notice, and past residents; implement collection strategies to meet monthly A/R goals.
  • Track repayment agreements and follow up on delinquent accounts.
  • Prepare and issue notices, collections packets, and manage lease accounts and fees.
  • Oversee collection efforts with third-party vendors and monitor external utility billing.
  • Communicate with residents regarding account balances, discrepancies, and concerns.
  • Collaborate with the Property Manager and on-site teams on resident-related issues.
  • Assist with operational tasks and resident engagement as directed.
  • Prepare and distribute collections and performance reports to management.
  • Review renewal reports and conduct periodic ledger audits.
  • Support pre-legal and legal escalation processes.
  • Troubleshoot Yardi system discrepancies and ensure data integrity.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of residential accounting or management experience preferred.
  • Industry certifications such as CAM, APM, etc., are a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, experience with Yardi Voyager or similar systems preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and team leadership abilities.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to lift, walk, climb stairs, and work in various physical conditions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and handle stressful situations.
