Our client is a leading organization providing accessible education solutions. The Accessibility Project Manager will oversee the delivery, documentation, and compliance efforts related to accessibility evaluations, including VPATs. This is a full-time, contract position paying $50-$57 per hour. This is a fully remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery, review, and documentation of third-party accessibility evaluations, including VPATs.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive plans for accessibility audits, including resource allocation, timelines, and prioritization.
  • Guide teams through remediation processes, ensuring clarity, accountability, and steady progress toward compliance.
  • Provide consistent, transparent updates to leadership and stakeholders on project status, risks, and milestones.
  • Create and maintain detailed project plans, including work breakdown structures, schedules, deliverables, resource plans, risk mitigation strategies, and communication plans.
  • Facilitate planning sessions, kickoff meetings, and documentation of decision-making discussions.
  • Monitor progress across multiple projects; proactively identify risks and resolve blockers.
  • Manage scope changes in accordance with change management processes, maintaining transparent communication.
  • Manage quality assurance and accessibility testing to ensure deliverables meet standards and stakeholder approval.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools and techniques to enhance efficiency in auditing, documentation, and remediation workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of project management and accessibility compliance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508, and related accessibility standards.
  • Experience with VPATs and documenting accessibility compliance.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders with patience and persistence.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience in ed-tech, K-12 systems, or federated nonprofit environments, familiarity with design and learning workflows, and accessibility or project management certifications such as CPACC, WAS, CPWA, PMP, Scrum, CAPM, or PMI-ACP.
