Our client is a major transportation agency responsible for connecting communities and supporting mobility across the DC region. The Graphic Designer will develop and design layouts across all mediums, both print and digital, that have a clear focus, theme, and message for intended audiences.
This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC, paying $52.00 per hour. This is a Contract position.
Responsibilities
- Develop and design visual layouts for print and digital media aligning with project themes and messages
- Transform ideas from creative briefs into visual products including illustrations, publications, and visual aids
- Collaborate with copywriters, videographers, research teams, and project managers to brainstorm creative solutions for communications challenges
- Assist with all aspects of production and design of visual communications to promote awareness of transportation initiatives
- Ensure designs follow mobile-first best practices for digital media
- Organize and store creative assets using digital asset management tools
- Contribute to the development of a new wayfinding system across bus and rail networks, incorporating iterative design methods and stakeholder buy-in
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years demonstrated graphic and multimedia design experience, preferably within an advertising agency or in-house design team
- Experience designing for transportation or public sector projects is a plus
- Strong proficiency with digital design tools and asset management systems
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
