Our client is a local government that provides a full range of public services to residents, including public safety, infrastructure maintenance, parks and recreation, housing assistance, health and human services, and economic development. The administrative coordinator will support research, policy implementation, compliance procedures, and administrative functions essential to departmental operations.
This is a full-time position based in Woodbridge, VA, paying $26.00 per hour. This is a contract position.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis of departmental policies, practices, and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance
- Support safety training and inspection programs by tracking and following up on corrective actions and training requirements
- Serve as an administrative liaison between the department and risk/wellness services, facilitating communication and resolution of safety and compliance issues
- Perform administrative duties including maintaining records, preparing reports, and assisting with audits and site visits
- Compile, analyze, and present data on operational and financial trends, offering recommendations to improve processes
- Assist with daily administrative operations such as payroll, purchasing, and processing invoices
- Develop and update records, reports, databases, and presentation materials
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. plus 4 years of related experience
- Knowledge of customer service principles, administrative management, and business practices
- Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
- Proficiency in office software and data analysis tools
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills suitable for interaction with coworkers, public, and management
- Experience implementing safety compliance programs and conducting research and analysis is preferred
- Certifications related to safety, compliance, or administrative management are a plus
