Sr. Financial Compliance Analyst

Our client is a major transportation agency responsible for connecting communities and supporting mobility across the DC region. The Sr. Financial Compliance Analyst will serve as a research analyst conducting in-depth research, documentation, and analysis of financial contracts to support compliance and financial reporting functions.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Alexandria, VA, paying $42.09 per hour. This is a contract position.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough searches for missing contracts within internal systems, archives, and shared drives.
  • Review historical records, emails, and shared drives to locate relevant documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to verify and track contract details.
  • Prepare balance confirmations for financial projects to ensure accurate tracking.
  • Verify payments for past projects using job numbers to ensure proper billing and reconciliation.
  • Compile and maintain organized records of located contracts.
  • Ensure all documents adhere to organizational standards and compliance guidelines.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify sources of missing contracts.
  • Provide regular updates on progress and escalate challenges.
  • Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and document gaps.
  • Recommend process improvements for contract tracking.

Qualifications

  • Experience with conducting research from various sources (emails, shared drives, systems).
  • Experience documenting findings following organizational procedures.
  • Preferable experience with PeopleSoft Finance applications.
  • At least four years of increasingly responsible experience in financial or accounting roles performing analysis and reconciliations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with document management systems and intranet search tools.
  • Knowledge of contract management systems is a plus.
  • Technical proficiency in financial analysis and reconciliation.
