Our client is a global leader in specialized MEP engineering and secure environment solutions, delivering decades of expertise to critical government and commercial projects. The Project Manager will manage various engineering design projects and serve as the design team lead when interfacing with customers. This is a Full-time, Direct Hire opportunity based in Chantilly, VA, with a salary range of $120,000 to $160,000.

Responsibilities

  • Establish project teams and complete project initiation documents, including Scope of Work, PSBS, Budget, and Storyboard.
  • Coordinate with Finance & Accounting to ensure proper contract setup and billing.
  • Conduct project Kick-Off meetings to disseminate project information.
  • Map out project scope and allocate staff resources accordingly.
  • Execute contractual agreements in line with company guidelines.
  • Oversee resource planning, cost estimating, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Manage and control project scope changes.
  • Lead the project team through all project phases, ensuring appropriate utilization.
  • Maintain ongoing client communication regarding project status and milestones.
  • Ensure quality control efforts are followed in accordance with company standards.
  • Maximize project profit margins through effective pricing, budgeting, and resource utilization.
  • Conduct post-project reviews for client satisfaction and lessons learned.
  • Identify new project opportunities and grow client relationships.
  • Monitor invoicing and collection processes to meet billing objectives.
  • Keep project status reports current for seamless project coordination.
  • Ensure proper documentation and archiving of project files.
  • Manage subcontractor agreements per company policy.
  • Support and evaluate project team members, assigning duties based on skill and project needs.
  • Communicate project changes promptly and follow up to ensure continuity.

Qualifications

  • A 4-year college degree in Engineering, Construction, or Facilities-related field, or 10+ years of related project management experience.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple technical projects and meet deliverables.
  • Effective in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with cost and financial accounting standards and metrics.
  • Skilled in staffing requirements mapping to Statement of Work.
  • Strong coordination, time management, and resource management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A strong desire to learn.

Preferred Experience

  • DoD Clearance or eligible.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Knowledge of multiple technical disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of FAR and government contracting.
  • Experience in proposal and budget development in government contracts.
  • Full-time on-site availability.
