This organization is a large, mission?driven nonprofit that provides inclusive employment, job training, and community?based support services for people with differing abilities across the region. The Human Resources Business Partner will provide HR expertise to support organizational strategies, consulting with leaders and managers to improve relationships, morale, productivity, and retention. This is a full-time, contract position based in Upper Marlboro, MD, paying $33–$38 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Bring HR expertise and develop solutions to help the organization deliver its strategy
  • Consult with leaders and managers, providing HR policy interpretation and guidance
  • Work closely with leaders and employees to enhance working relationships, morale, and productivity
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance, including coaching and disciplinary actions
  • Use data to identify HR priorities and address workforce needs
  • Partner with HR and other stakeholders to develop programs and policies
  • Identify training needs and participate in program evaluation
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and ensure compliance in employee management
  • Partner with legal as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (required)
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources or related field (required)
  • Working knowledge of HR disciplines including talent management, organizational design, employee relations, and employment laws
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • HRIS system experience required
  • High organization skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license and regional responsiveness
