Expense Analyst

Our client is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the scientific community, recognized globally for advancing the hard sciences and publishing leading scientific journals. The Corporate Expense & Supplier Compliance Analyst will manage vendor profiles, support corporate card administration, and ensure compliance with expense policies.

This is a full-time, contract position based in Washington, DC, paying $26.84–$40.27 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain vendor profiles in procurement systems.
  • Collect and verify documentation for vendor setup and payment.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS regulations regarding reportable income and 1099 classifications.
  • Process applications for Chrome River access and corporate travel/purchasing cards.
  • Administer the corporate card program, monitor usage, and respond to fraud alerts.
  • Audit employee expense reports for compliance and accuracy.
  • Provide guidance to employees on expense procedures.
  • Respond to inquiries related to suppliers, payments, and corporate cards.
  • Collaborate with finance, procurement, and IT teams to improve processes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in supplier/vendor management, corporate card administration, or related finance operations.
  • Strong understanding of IRS 1099 reporting rules, including thresholds and filing deadlines.
  • Familiarity with expense management systems (e.g., Chrome River) and procurement platforms.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
