Our client is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the scientific community, recognized globally for advancing the hard sciences and publishing leading scientific journals. The Part-Time Registration Specialist will manage registration operations for scientific meetings and events, ensuring a seamless, customer-focused experience for attendees.
This is a part-time position based in Washington, DC, paying $24.00 per hour. This is a contract position.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end configuration, execution, and performance of registration platforms for various scientific meetings and events.
- Establish and oversee registration timelines, milestones, and workflows in collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and event organizers.
- Ensure data integrity across registration, housing, membership, and financial systems; troubleshoot issues and generate reports for decision-making.
- Define and maintain customer support processes, oversee issue resolution, and uphold high service standards.
- Serve as the onsite registration lead, staffing, training, and coordinating logistics for efficient attendee check-in.
- Manage relationships with registration vendors, procurement, staffing, and resource coordination.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant registration experience, including buildouts and implementation with Cvent, CDS, Maritz, or similar platforms.
- Requires a BA/BS degree or equivalent.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Strong customer service skills with experience resolving complex issues.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and reporting.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 20%, and to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs or more and move about as required.
