Our client is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the scientific community, recognized globally for advancing the hard sciences and publishing leading scientific journals. The Accounts Sales Representative will identify, research, and sell Expo sponsorships into specialized companies that relate to key Expo initiatives, including Pharma Community programming and C&EN Future of Chemistry panel series. The role involves working with the divisions to establish bespoke sponsorship packages, collaborating with internal partners, attending regional conferences, and meeting revenue quotas. The position is fully remote, paying $45.00-$48.00 per hour. This is a full-time contract position.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and sell sponsorships into targeted companies aligned with Expo initiatives
  • Collaborate with the divisions to develop custom sponsorship packages
  • Establish pricing strategies for specialty campaigns
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure sponsor needs are met
  • Attend regional and specialty conferences to solicit new business
  • Manage sales from initial contact through closing and contract documentation
  • Track revenue and communicate progress to management and marketing teams
  • Respond to inbound inquiries and cold call prospective clients
  • Maintain CRM data accuracy and collaborate with fulfillment teams
  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns to increase revenue
  • Adapt strategies based on market trends and client feedback

Qualifications

  • Proven success in global business development, specifically in event sales, with 5+ years of related experience
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and event management systems (e.g., A2Z, eShow)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and manage expectations
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in Chemistry preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% annually, including to Expos
