Our client is a major transportation agency responsible for connecting communities and supporting mobility across the DC region. The System Specialist will provide functional, analytical, and system support services for procurement and financial systems, supporting the effective operation, enhancement, and alignment of Procure-to-Pay (PTP) systems and related applications. This is a full-time contract position based in Hyattsville, MD, paying paying $55  per hour. 

Responsibilities

• Serve as a functional support analyst for procurement and financial systems.
• Provide business process analysis, document findings, and recommend improvements.
• Support system development, enhancement, and project coordination.
• Gather requirements and develop functional documentation.
• Test system functionality in production and non-production environments.
• Perform user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Analyze procurement contract management data.
• Act as liaison between procurement and IT teams for system support.
• Support management with administrative activities using supply chain and financial applications.
• Coordinate with integrated systems to improve workflows.
• Troubleshoot production issues and security access.
• Provide system improvement recommendations.
• Serve as the main contact for procurement support and user inquiries.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar support role supporting procurement or financial systems.
• Experience supporting Procure-to-Pay (PTP) or procurement contract systems.
• Demonstrated requirement gathering and functional documentation skills.
• Experience performing system testing including UAT.
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with enterprise systems such as Accounts Payable, Commitment Control, Project Costing, Inventory, Maximo.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of system access controls and procurement security protocols (Preferred).
• Must have PeopleSoft experience.
