Our client is a major transportation agency responsible for connecting communities and supporting mobility across the DC region. The Data Analyst will support data-driven decision-making and provide advanced analytical expertise to transform complex data into actionable insights that enhance strategic initiatives, performance management, and operational efficiency.

This is a full-time position based in Hyattsville, MD, paying $55.00 per hour. This is a Contract position.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends and actionable insights
• Develop, maintain, and optimize dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for various stakeholders
• Partner with teams to gather requirements and translate questions into analytical solutions
• Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency across sources
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and anomaly detection
• Develop and document analytical methodologies and reporting standards
• Support ad-hoc data requests and analytical projects
• Present findings and recommendations clearly to management and stakeholders

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related fields
• Demonstrated experience with SQL, Python, R, or similar tools
• Experience with data visualization/reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Excel
• Proven experience working with relational databases and large datasets
• Strong understanding of data modeling, governance, and quality principles
• Ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical audiences
• Experience supporting cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments
• Preferred: Experience in public sector or regulated environments; familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
