Our client is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the scientific community, recognized globally for advancing the hard sciences and publishing leading scientific journals. The Program Manager, Global Engagement, will serve as the primary liaison between our client’s headquarters and its international chapters, guiding chapter formation, compliance, member engagement, program development, and supporting global leadership initiatives. This is a full-time, contract position based in Washington, DC, paying $60.00-$67.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Guide prospective international chapters through formation, approval, and compliance processes, ensuring alignment with organizational bylaws and standards.
- Conduct annual reviews of chapter compliance, manage reporting timelines, and assist chapters in fulfilling reporting and election requirements.
- Maintain accurate records in the membership management database and generate status reports for leadership.
- Serve as a resource for chapter officers across multiple time zones and cultural contexts, and facilitate onboarding, training webinars, and recognition programs.
- Collaborate with regional managers and international counterparts on joint programming and member engagement strategies.
- Develop resources supporting chapter activities; track and analyze chapter metrics and engagement trends.
- Manage grant applications for international chapters, including eligibility, disbursement, and impact reporting.
- Monitor budget lines related to international support programs and prepare financial reconciliations.
- Partner with internal teams to connect chapters with relevant programs and participate in external conferences.
- Support the international committee with scheduling, agenda development, and documentation of meetings.
- Plan and execute the international leadership summit, including program development, logistics, and participant engagement.
- Represent our client at international partner events, fostering networking opportunities for members.
- Provide ongoing support to ensure inclusive and accessible international programs and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, international studies, communications, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in member services, international programming, or volunteer management.
- Proven project management skills for complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives with tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, with experience engaging with international audiences.
- Proficiency with CRM and membership database systems (e.g., Salesforce, iMIS) and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams).
