Our client is a trusted utility and energy provider delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable solutions to homes and businesses. The role involves handling billing disputes, customer inquiries, and account management with a focus on customer service excellence.

This is a Full-Time, contract position based in Washington, DC, paying $21.00 - $23.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Walk-in office, email correspondence, or phone inquiries concerning billing disputes, new service, service reconnection, emergency response, deposits, and general information
  • Analyze customer information systems (SAP) and determine course of action in accordance with company policies
  • Resolve customer inquiries, escalated complaints, and billing issues via phone, email, or walk-in
  • Review and maintain documentation related to customer records (leases, deeds, identification)
  • Initiate communication to correct customer records and resolve account issues
  • Investigate customer identification and fraud claims/alerts, document and escalate as needed
  • Respond to inquiries related to the Automatic Name Change Program (ANCP)
  • Initiate service work orders, validate customer identity, and process lease information
  • Support field collections staff and assist with processing special assignments
  • Maintain customer traffic statistics and act as a company witness in court proceedings and PSC hearings
  • Receive and document payments, perform end-of-day reconciliations, and prepare reports
  • Provide coverage for other walk-in offices as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Prior SAP experience preferred
  • Customer service experience (phone and email handling)
  • Ability to analyze case situations and make quick decisions
  • Experience with billing disputes and customer inquiries
  • Technical skills or certifications related to SAP or customer service systems
