Our client is a nonprofit organization that empowers young people through hands-on educational programs in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness, connecting classroom learning to real-world experiences. The Senior Visual Production Designer will support the design and production of high-quality, accessible learning materials across print and digital formats, ensuring visual consistency and adherence to accessibility standards.

This is a part-time position based in Virginia, paying $53.00 per hour. This is a contract position.

Responsibilities

  • Create and update print layouts in Adobe InDesign using established templates and style guides.
  • Produce digital layouts and assets for PowerPoint, Word, and other formats.
  • Prepare files for print production, ensuring formatting, color accuracy, and specifications.
  • Adapt visual designs across multiple mediums while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Apply design principles, color theory, and hierarchy to extend the design system.
  • Follow existing design systems, templates, and brand guidelines.
  • Create visual assets, icons, or illustrations as needed.
  • Conduct quality assurance on all design work to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure materials meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, including color contrast, alt text, and reading order.
  • Incorporate accessibility best practices into workflows.
  • Communicate effectively about timelines, requirements, and design considerations.
  • Organize and maintain design files, assets, and version control.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in graphic, production, or layout design.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Figma, Illustrator, PowerPoint, and basic Photoshop.
  • Experience working within structured templates and style guides.
  • Understanding of accessibility principles for print and digital materials.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and consistency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Articulate Storyline or other e-learning authoring tools.
  • Experience in educational publishing or curriculum design.
