Our client is a trusted utility and energy provider delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable solutions to homes and businesses. The Collections Specialist will pursue collections on high-risk gas accounts, investigating and managing relationships to ensure successful payment resolutions.
This is an onsite position in Alexandria, VA, paying $27.00-$32.00 per hour. This is a full-time, contract position.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed account reviews within the business information system for inquiries from internal teams, outside agencies, and customers
- Initiate and receive calls regarding collections, government, and high-risk accounts
- Manage investigations in coordination with internal departments, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Assist with third-party damage collections, managing inquiries and responses
- Execute customer billing inquiries and account changes promptly and accurately
- Document findings, coordinate communication, and perform field inspections as needed
- Manage investigations related to revenue protection, adhering to regulatory requirements
- Support process improvements to enhance customer experience
Qualifications
- Experience in a call center environment, preferably with collections focus
- Background in utility or gas industries desirable
- SAP experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong investigative and communication skills
