Our client is a private, federally chartered research university in Washington, D.C. that offers a wide range of academic programs and is recognized for its high research activity, global engagement, and strong ties to public service and diplomacy. The position of Legal Administrative Assistant will support the Office of the Vice President and General Counsel by providing exceptional legal administrative assistance to multiple attorneys and managing various office functions.
This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC, paying $19.00 per hour. This is a contract position.
Responsibilities
- Manage calendars and schedule meetings for multiple attorneys
- Oversee reception area, greet visitors, answer phone calls professionally, and redirect inquiries as needed
- Maintain attendance records and process travel and expense reports
- Draft legal correspondence, reports, forms, and related documents
- Assist with records management and special projects
- Handle clerical tasks including incoming/outgoing mail, photocopying, filing, and updating spreadsheets
- Respond to subpoenas and records requests, ensuring appropriate document handling
- Support corporate filings and compliance tracking
- Coordinate conference room scheduling and assist with meeting arrangements
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years of legal and administrative support experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Box, Zoom, NetDocuments, and standard office equipment
- Excellent customer service, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to prioritize workload and exercise independent judgment
- Familiarity with legal technology solutions
