Our client is a nonprofit organization that empowers young people through hands-on educational programs in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness, connecting classroom learning to real-world experiences. The Senior UX Researcher will lead user research for an evolving e-learning programs and platforms, driving insights that shape meaningful and engaging learning experiences. This is a remote contract position paying $50.00-$53.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Research Strategy & Planning: Partner with product, design, curriculum, and field services teams to identify research needs and define clear research objectives.
- Develop research plans, select appropriate methodologies for generative, evaluative, and pilot-based studies.
- Build and maintain a research schedule aligned with product milestones.
- Execution of Research: Conduct qualitative and quantitative research such as interviews, usability testing (moderated and unmoderated), surveys, diary studies, and classroom observations.
- Create research materials including discussion guides, test scripts, surveys, and observation frameworks.
- Manage participant recruitment in collaboration with field services and product managers.
- Grow and maintain a tagged user panel for ongoing research cycles.
- Synthesis, Insight Development & Communication: Analyze research findings to identify patterns, user needs, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
- Translate insights into actionable recommendations for product, design, and development teams.
- Produce research reports, journey maps, affinity maps, and insight summaries.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops to build shared understanding.
- Pilot Support & Systems Thinking: Support product pilots in the field, integrating pilot data with other research sources to create a holistic view of user experience.
- Collaborate with Field Services to gather user feedback, identify systemic issues, and surface opportunities including process improvements through the use of AI.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in UX research, UX design, engagement strategy, education/project management, or business analysis
- BA or MA in a human-behavior-related field (e.g., UX Research, HCI, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Education, Business Analysis)
- Excellent skills in collaboration, communication, problem-solving, organization, planning, facilitation, and consensus building
- Proven experience in leading teams through early-stage research planning and execution
- Familiarity with active listening, expectation setting, trust-building, learning experience design, personalization, learning analytics, assessments, mobile-first digital experiences, and Agile/Lean processes
Preferred Software Experience
- FigJam, Mural, Miro, ClickUp, Jira, user research platforms such as Userlytics or UserTesting.com
