Our client is a fully integrated real estate development and management company, covering acquisition, construction, property management, leasing, and asset management. They are seeking a hands-on HR Manager to own and execute the day-to-day HR function, with a strong emphasis on consistency, follow-through, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to stabilize processes, support managers, and ensure compliance and documentation are handled accurately and efficiently.
This is an onsite, direct hire position based in Vienna, Virginia, with a salary range of $110,000-$130,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute day-to-day HR operations to ensure smooth, responsive support for the organization.
- Partner with managers on employee relations matters, providing practical guidance on documentation, consistency, and process requirements.
- Support performance management processes, including progressive discipline, documentation, and compliance-aware guidance.
- Administer benefits programs and 401(k) plans, serving as a liaison with brokers and vendors; assist with renewals and ongoing plan management.
- Support audits and maintain accurate records related to benefits, 401(k), and HR compliance.
- Maintain organized, complete, and confidential employee records and documentation.
- Coordinate HR systems and workflows, including HRIS and payroll, ensuring data accuracy and process efficiency.
- Support onboarding and training efforts to create a consistent employee experience.
- Assist with safety-related HR administration, including incident documentation, OSHA reporting, and workers’ compensation coordination.
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in a hands-on HR role (HR Manager, Senior HR Generalist, HR Lead, or similar).
- Demonstrated strengths in employee relations and manager coaching.
- Benefits and 401(k) administration experience.
- HR documentation, compliance, and operational execution skills.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance fundamentals, including familiarity with FMLA/ADA considerations.
- Highly organized, responsive, and adaptable to evolving processes.
- Preferred: PHR or SPHR certification.
