Our client is a major financial enterprise dedicated to supporting housing markets and promoting sustainable homeownership nationwide. The Business Analyst Specialist will support data querying, reporting, and building data solutions that enhance business insights and operational efficiency.
This is a hybrid position based in McLean, VA, paying $57.00 per hour. This is a full-time, contract position.
Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze business requirements related to data solutions, reporting, and process design.
- Interface between business and technical teams to translate reporting needs into technical specifications.
- Develop dashboards and visualizations using Power BI to support decision-making processes.
- Support technical solution development, systems integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Document process and data flow designs, and support testing strategies and plans.
- Collaborate in agile environments supporting backlog refinement and requirements management.
- Communicate findings and technical solutions effectively to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years of experience supporting business analysis in financial services or related industries.
- Proficient with SQL, Snowflake, and Python for data querying and solution development.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI and automation tools.
- Familiarity with Atlassian software suite (Jira, Confluence) and agile delivery methodologies.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills with excellent communication abilities.
- Experience working in mortgage or broader financial services industries.
- Knowledge of manual and automation testing.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and manage multiple priorities.
