Our client is a nonprofit providing housing, medical respite care, and support services to help individuals experiencing homelessness achieve stability and independence. The Outreach Program Monitor - RPC will support community outreach efforts and assist homeless individuals in Arlington, VA. The position offers a pay rate of $20.00 per hour and is part-time, contract arrangement. This is a part-time position based in Arlington, VA, paying $20.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Actively seek out and work with homeless persons throughout Arlington County initiating engagement to support additional services
- Build trust and rapport by offering emergency assistance such as food, clothing, sleeping bags, and shower vouchers
- Serve as the first point of contact for clients and community members, maintaining a friendly, courteous attitude with strong communication skills
- Participate in outreach programs and community outreach calls
- Assist clients in accessing available services and ensure safety during crisis situations
- Maintain logs of client contacts, donations, and daily facility activities
- Coordinate efforts with community partners to facilitate housing and service access for homeless individuals
- Ensure safety of clients and staff through safety procedures and emergency protocols
- Conduct informal assessments to determine clients’ social and economic needs
- Develop and implement day programming for clients
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; experience in human services preferred
- Experience working with homeless individuals and in multicultural settings preferred
- Patience, persistence, and concern for client welfare required
- Ability to maintain accurate records and client confidentiality
- Driver’s license and car insurance required
