Our client is a privately held investment and advisory firm that has grown into a global organization. It provides wealth management and financial solutions for individuals, families, nonprofits, and institutions, focusing on long-term strategy and client success. The Senior Client Accounting Associate will support high-net-worth clients with complex financial affairs and serve as a trusted partner to clients, advisors, and CPAs. This is a Full-time, Direct Hire opportunity based in Norfolk, VA, with a salary range of $60,000 to $75,000 with bonus potential.
Responsibilities
- Maintain complete records and prepare checks for client’s foundations, trusts, partnerships, and LLCs.
- Reconcile accounts on a monthly basis.
- Prepare checks for charitable contributions for individuals and foundations as directed.
- Organize income tax return information for individuals, trusts, partnerships, and foundations.
- Prepare detailed year-end tax information for third-party accountants.
- Understand and document taxable events.
- Process bills for payment, including using bill.com, and write checks for expenses such as bills, payroll, investments, and gifts.
- Communicate with clients to receive approval for invoice processing and cash movement activities.
- Oversee the reconciliation of client checking accounts.
- Record accounts receivables and deposits in various bank accounts.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
- Assist team members and serve as backup for colleagues.
- Research and complete special projects, developing solutions on the client’s behalf.
- Work with CPAs to answer questions and serve as a point of contact.
- Assist with tax filings and payments.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client financial information.
- Participate in client meetings as requested.
- Prepare payroll, calculate payroll taxes, and prepare quarterly and annual tax documents for employees of clients.
- Research health insurance options as needed.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of partnership accounting experience preferred.
- QuickBooks Enterprise and Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
- Experience in individual tax is a plus.
- Ability to work in the Norfolk office location.
- Authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
