Our client is a trusted utility and energy provider delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable solutions to homes and businesses. The Senior Emergency Management Advisor will oversee and coordinate the internal emergency preparedness program, ensuring regulatory compliance and organizational readiness across gas utility operations. This is a Full-time,Contract-to-hire role onsite position based in Washington, DC, with a pay range of $60.00 to $70.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary coordinator for emergency management programs, maintaining and updating response plans, procedures, and documentation.
  • Ensure programs remain compliant with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Support emergency planning, training, exercises, and incident response activities.
  • Support emergency activation, notification systems, and incident management team readiness.
  • Coordinate with various organizational teams to enhance emergency preparedness, resilience, and response capabilities.

Core Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of professional emergency management experience.
  • At least 5 years supporting emergency or crisis management, utility operations, or critical infrastructure.
  • Proven experience developing, implementing, and administering emergency management programs.
  • Ability to operate independently with strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Utility, pipeline, energy, or critical infrastructure experience.
  • Supporting PHMSA-regulated operations.
  • Experience with Everbridge or similar emergency notification platforms.
  • Supporting business continuity or crisis management programs.
  • Certifications: ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-300; CEM or similar certifications.

Technical Skills or Certifications

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferably, experience with emergency response platforms like Everbridge.
  • Certifications: ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-300 (required); CEM or AEM (preferred).
