Our client is a trusted utility and energy provider delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable solutions to homes and businesses. The Senior Project Manager supports Project Fusion by coordinating work activities across the Procure to Pay Business Workstream to ensure tasks are completed on schedule. This is a full time contract position, onsite, based in Springfield, VA, with a pay range of $140.00-$170.00 per hour. 

Responsibilities

  • Support the Procure to Pay team by providing visibility and tracking of upcoming tasks
  • Engage project team members to identify business resources needed to complete tasks and reach objectives
  • Support maintenance of the P2P schedule by tracking detailed task progress and highlighting gaps
  • Provide project updates on a regular basis to stakeholders about progress
  • Capture decisions, actions, and commitments, maintaining accurate follow-up records
  • Work collaboratively with system implementors to ensure tasks are assigned and completed
  • Communicate expectations related to deliverables effectively within the team
  • Follow project standards, governance practices, and delivery frameworks, while recommending improvements where needed
  • Monitor task execution progress and make adjustments as necessary
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Guide the team in corrective steps to enhance overall project performance
  • Evaluate project processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop solutions
  • Coordinate with other workstreams to meet project milestones
  • Communicate key insights and findings to team members and management
  • Identify and resolve project issues proactively
  • Gather data and analyze business and user needs
  • Coordinate documentation development for implementation
  • Identify risks to delivery early and escalate when necessary

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in software or digital applications
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with procure to pay business processes is an asset
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Azure DevOps)
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification is an asset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and planning skills with keen attention to detail
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work proactively and follow up independently
  • Skilled at coordinating across multiple stakeholders and priorities
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
