Our client is a major transportation organization connecting communities and supporting mobility across a large metropolitan region. The Compensation Administrator will support compensation programs by analyzing market data, advising leaders, and improving consistent, compliant pay practices. This is a full time contract position, onsite, based in Washington, DC, paying $39.29 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Support enterprise-wide compensation initiatives and provide day-to-day guidance on compensation policies, practices, and pay decisions
- Conduct internal and external compensation analyses, including market pricing and competitive pay assessments
- Partner with business stakeholders to interpret compensation guidelines, resolve pay-related questions, and recommend solutions
- Coach managers on compensation practices and help develop clear communications to support consistent decision-making
- Help create and track compensation metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and support reporting needs
- Assist with annual compensation processes (e.g., salary structure updates, merit modeling, and related program documentation)
- Support compliance efforts related to wage and hour requirements and compensation documentation standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (e.g., Finance and Legal) to support funding alignment and policy compliance
- Contribute to compensation projects and provide coverage/leadership support as needed within the compensation function
Qualifications
- 5+ years of human resources experience with hands-on compensation analysis, program support, and market pricing methodologies
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience building compensation models and presenting findings/recommendations in a clear, business-friendly format
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency with Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with HRIS/HCM systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, SAP, Ceridian, or similar platforms) preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly
