Our client is a major transportation organization supporting safe, reliable mobility and essential services across a large region. The Benefits Specialist supports open enrollment by guiding professionals through benefit options, eligibility, and enrollment system questions. This is a full time contract position, onsite, based in Hyattsville, Maryland, paying $33 per hour.
Responsibilities
• Answer inbound calls regarding health, dental, vision, and other benefit programs
• Explain plan options, eligibility requirements, enrollment procedures, and deadlines
• Assist with navigating online enrollment systems and resolving basic access or usability issues
• Document inquiries and interactions accurately and consistently
• Escalate complex benefits, payroll, or system issues to the appropriate teams
• Maintain confidentiality of benefits and personal information
• Support benefits communications and outreach efforts as needed
• Meet service level expectations for responsiveness and call quality
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• Experience in benefits administration, human resources, customer service, or a call center environment (preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to explain complex information clearly and professionally
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based systems
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Familiarity with HRIS or benefits administration systems (preferred)
